Endémica de Colombia; Bosques andinos hasta los páramos de la cordillera Central con registros en los departamentos de Antioquia (Acosta, 2000;Ardila & Acosta, 2000;Páez et al. 2002:Bernal & Lynch, 2008;Stuart et al. 2008;Gonzáles-Durán et al. 2017;Rivera et al. 2017; Pinto & Alzate, 2023) y Caldas (Lynch & Rueda, 1998;Acosta, 2000;Bernal & Lynch, 2008;Stuart et al. 2008;Gonzáles-Durán et al. 2017) entre los 1800-3100 metros sobre el nivel del mar.
